Top 10 Display Homes in Brisbane

by | Oct 8, 2021 | expanded list

Brisbane is scattered with Display homes but sometimes visiting a display village can end up feeling like a waste of time. Sometimes you can’t find many designs that fit your block or the variety of builders just isn’t there. Here are our top 10 display homes in Brisbane to give you a better idea of where to go when searching for a home design.

Newport Stockland Display Village

Rani Street, Cardinal Crescent and Smith Lane
Newport QLD 4209
Mon-Sun 10am-5pm

Newport Stockland display village features 26 homes from 16 builders. Focused primarily on double-storey homes from some of the biggest builders in the state. This display village may not be the best one to visit if you’re in the market for single storey homes.

Of the double storey homes on display here, most have floorplans between 300m2 and 400m2. But there’s not a lot suited to narrower blocks. The same applies to the low set designs on display here too. If you building on a 13m+ wide block its village is worth a look if not there are better options.

Most of the builders here are well-established volume builders such as McCarthy and Metricon but you will find a hand full of newer, smaller builders amongst them such as; Fresh Homes and Homes by CMA.

Mon-Fri 10:00am-5:00pm
Sat-Sun 10:00am-5:00pm

Foreshore Coomera display village focuses more on regional builders found around the Sunshine Coast area. That’s not to say they don’t build down in Brisbane as well, with both Brisbane and Gold Coast based builders display homes here.

There is quite a lot of variety for those looking to build a wide frontage low set house here. Often you will see single storey designs only present the garage, entrance and sometimes a study area at the front of the house. Here there are a few designs that include larger living spaces at the front of the home. If this is the type of layout you’re after then it’s worth taking a walk around.

With less of a focus on the big volume builders, this might be a good spot to check out some builders you may not have thought of. There are 21 homes on display from 14 builders.

Almost all the display homes at Arise at Rochedale are double-storey designs. In fact, this display village features 22 display homes and 20 of them are double-storey. So don’t bother going if you’re building a single-storey home.

Arise is also dominated by volume builders with Metricon and Clarendon both showing 8 homes each here. You sometimes miss out on seeing this at other display villages builders usually only show about 1 double-storey home in the lineup. At Arise you can get a better idea of how builders design to fit different plot sizes.

The More Convenient Option (Virtual Tours)

Brisbane display homes are pretty spread out and often there’s no single village that offers all you want to see. That’s where virtual tours come in. Becoming increasingly popular nearly all builders off virtual tours of their designs. Quite often you’ll find that some builders have more designs available as a virtual tour than they have display homes.

The Virtual Tour Advantage

To give you an example of just how much more you can see with virtual tours. Bold Living have 10 display homes between the sunshine coast and the gold coast. In comparison, they have 32 virtual tours on their website. Even more impressive is the 143 virtual tours that GJ Gardner have online in comparison to their 10 display homes within the Brisbane area.

What virtual tours also offer is far more diversity in designs. This means you can check out designs closer to the specifications of your block and more in line with what you and your family need.

With most display villages offering at most 3 designs per builder the chances, you’ll find a village that has more than 1 design relevant to you from a builder you’re interested in are pretty slim. Inconsistent opening times are also synonymous with display villages as different builders often have different opening times at the same village.

If you’re not one to waste time we recommend you familiarise yourself with how to effectively use virtual tours with our video below.

Top Tips Before You Go

Large Double Storey Designs

If you’re looking to build a double storey home with floorplans between 300m and 400m we recommend checking out Newport Stockland Display Village. This display village has a huge focus on larger double storey homes from some of Brisbane’s biggest builders.

Alternatively, check out Arise at Rochdale of the 22 display homes there 20 of them are double storey designs. Arise does feature a lot of Metricon and Claredon display homes but there are some smaller builders for you to compare them to.

Enviromentally Friendly Builds & Narrow Blocks

If your looking to build your new home with sustainability in mind the Aura Sales and Vision village is the spot to check out. Every display home here has been designed to showcase the latest in eco-friendly home design. This is the only display village in the state with a focus on green builds.

Aura also has a good selection of narrow block designs with homes suitable for frontages as slim as 4m to 10m wide. Narrow block homes are becoming more common so if block width is a big requirement for you Aura Sales and Vision village should give you some inspiration.

Thinking about Acreage Living?

If you’re looking to build an acreage property then there’s only one display village you need to go to. The Mahoney’s Pocket North display village is the only display village in QLD that showcases acreage home designs. There aren’t many options if you’re looking for acreage display homes but luckily Mahoney’s Pocket has popped up to fill this gap.

Low-set wide frontage designs

If your looking to build a low-set home on a larger and wider block of land the Foreshore Coomera display village is where you’ll find the most designs that suit you. The main issue here is its location. It’s closer to the Sunshine Coast than it is to Brisbane. So if you’re not up for the drive perhaps using the virtual tours offered by most of the builders here will give you an easy way to view these designs.
